Last Saturday I had the opportunity to meet two blogging buddies, Leslye and her daughter Taylor in person. Some of you may be familiar with these two already if you’ve ever visited them at spread your wings. It was great fun to actually meet the two women whose work I’ve been enjoying online. More important though, was the chance to see this smile as Leslye made a sale with some of her art. When you do what you love, you share the best of yourself with others. Whether it’s photographic art like Leslye and Taylor create or something else specific to your own creative energy, allowing your gifts to come through benefits us all in ways we may not realize. 

Imagine the person reaching into her purse to pull out her money to complete the transaction. Leslye smiles as she holds the cards, several of which the woman who stands just out of camera range has carefully selected from the assortment of images that are artfully displayed in the booth. Looking beyond what my camera reflects back to me, I wonder who she’ll send the cards to and what words she’ll write inside. Will one be a gift of remembrance for a couple newly in love celebrating their first Christmas together or maybe another, a sweet note of thanks for someone who has done her a kindness that she’d like to note with something more special than a store bought card.  None of us can really know the path our words and images travel once they leave us.  We can’t see the attic where someone fifty years from now might find that first Christmas card tied up with love letters from two people who never expected to find each other.
